Band stops at Ore Dock Wednesday
MARQUETTE – Marty Lloyd of The Freddy Jones Band will lead a musical tour in support of its documentary, “DRAIN,” which includes a Wednesday stop at The Ore Dock Brewing Company at 114 Spring St.
Acoustic performances will feature new and classic songs from the band, which includes on drums Scott Kusmirek, who toured and recorded with Gin Blossoms, When In Rome and John Popper.
The tour had its beginnings when Lloyd performed a benefit concert for “DRAIN” in Wisconsin and became impassioned with the cause: raising awareness to preserve the Great Lakes.
Key issues in the film are historic low water levels in 2013 and actionable solutions to ensure further drops don’t threaten the lakes’ future. Proceeds from the film will support Restore Our Water International and other nonprofit groups dedicated to long-term solutions to restore the natural ranges of the Great Lakes’ water levels.
4WT Media is encouraging fans to tag their quintessential Great Lakes photos via Twitter and Facebook with #DRAINfilm. Information is available at www.drainfilm.com, twitter.com/DRAINfilm and www.facebook.com/DRAINfilm.
Favorite photos will be featured weekly on “DRAIN’s” social properties, and all submissions will be eligible to win a variety of prizes, including tickets to upcoming shows along the tour and “DRAIN” merchandise.
