Altobello receives grant

ISHPEMING – Arica Altobello was recently awarded a Western Michigan University/W.K. Kellogg Foundation Racial Healing Planning Grant.

The will enable her to serve as a graduate assistant on a project that involves teaching early childhood educators to implement a phonological awareness program in high-risk pre-school classrooms.

The daughter of Paul and Robyn Altobello of Ishpeming, she is a 2010 graduate of Westwood High school and graduated this year from Northern Michigan University with a bachelor’s degree in speech, language, and hearing science.
