Curtis Bridge Group – The Erickson Center for the Arts in Curtis is looking to form a drop-in contract bridge group. At 1 p.m. this date, a meeting will take place to explore interest in establishing and setting up a trial drop-in bridge session. BYO Dinner Theater – Peter White Public Library invites film fans to a BYO Dinner Theater event at 5:30 p.m. to enjoy a screening of “The Monuments Men” in the library’s Community room. BYO Dinner Theater welcomes the public to bring their own takeout supper and enjoy a feature film in a dinner theater setting. Creativity Series – The Upper Peninsula Children’s Museum will hold its next Second Thursday Creativity Series program “A Boat Load O’ Fun.” All area families are invited to come to the Children’s Museum for an evening of fun, hands-on, activities with a nautical theme. As always, there will also be creative snacks, unexpected music and more. The Museum’s Second Thursday Creativity Series for pre-school and elementary aged children and their caregivers will run from 5:30 until 7:30 p.m. The event is free with admission or membership to the museum. Thursday is also Dominos Pizza Night at the Museum so pizza can be ordered for $6 including tip and delivery by calling ahead by 5:30 that evening.

Author, editor, artist and blogger Suzi Banks Baum has organized an afternoon of “mothers reading to others” with live words and a conversation with local women artists and the audience. Joining Banks Baum will be authors Kathy Drue, Monica Devine and singer/composer Terri Bocklund who will share their work and host this lively conversation about the intersection of motherhood and creativity.
