In 1950, they settled in Negaunee where they spent the rest of their lives. Aurelia retired from Northern Michigan University’s Health Center as the Director of Nurses in June, 1979 after many years of service.

Following retirement, Aurelia and Eldred spent winters in Florida for a few years but decided home was where they wanted to be.
