NMU holds grid camp
MARQUETTE – More than 90 junior and senior high school football players from six different states were at Northern Michigan University’s Technique/Exposure camp at the Superior Dome Saturday to showcase their talents
“Today was a great day for our program in regards to getting a clear jump in the recruiting process for 2015,” NMU head coach Chris Ostrowsky said in a statement.
“The talent base was awesome and we are thankful for all that made the trip”.
The high school players went through measurements and weights, then participated in drill instruction and testing before taking part in individual positional drills, one-on-one and seven-on-seven competition.
Testing included weight training, the 40-yard dash, shuttle drills and vertical jump testing.
The players then went through a seminar on the “Path to Playing College Football” with the NMU coaching staff. It covered topics and tips for the players as they transition from high school athletes to college football hopefuls.
