Kayak and Canoe Race. Fun Paddle – The Michigamme DDA will be hosting its second annual Kayak and Canoe Race and Fun Paddle at 8:30 a.m. in the Michigamme Township Park. The Shore to Shore Race is about 10 miles while the Fun Paddle is about 3.75 miles. In conjunction with Michigamme’s Kayak/Canoe Race there will also be Family Fun Day from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. in the Michigamme Township Park. An inflatable obstacle course will be present and games will be played, with prizes awarded. There will also be a Little League pie social fundraiser and the concession stand will be open.

Outdoor worship – Immanuel Lutheran Church of Negaunee will have an oudoor service at 10 a.m. at Miners Park in Negaunee. Those attending should bring blankets or chairs for seating. UU gathering – The Marquette Unitarian Universalist Congregation will host a Summer Gathering at the Presque Isle Pavillion. The service begins at 11 a.m. with the topic of “What We Do Matters.” The public is invited to join in for a time of worshipping, singing and picnicking together.
