Polini’s 3 hits leads Buck’s, Schultz homers twice for Cliffs

In games played in the Iron Range Women’s Softball League on July 23, in Class A, Buck’s Party Store trimmed U.P. Off Road & Performance, 2-1, behind three hits by Sara Polini and two by Nicki Christensen.

Sam Zamesnik and Ashley Anderson posted two hits apiece for the Off Road.

Nikki Whitford recorded three hits – one an over-the-fence homer – to spark Venice I to a 14-6 victory over Sister’s. Teammates Michelle Turri and Chelsie Wealton chipped in three hits each.

Quinn Whitford turned in three hits for Sister’s.

Rookie’s Too-Quality Car Care shaded Crossfit 906, 12-10, as Rhonda Williams and Erin LeValley collected three hits apiece. For Crossfit, Nikki Richer and Katie Richer posted three safeties each.

Kayla Holmes went 5 for 5 with a home run as Jasper Ridge I outscored Jubilee Foods, 26-10. Teammates Megan Chapman, who tripled, and Taylor Waters, who had a double, added four hits apiece.

Brenda Thomas smacked a homer for Jubilee.

U.P. Home Health crushed Martin Sports Apparel I, 34-8, as the winners’ Eryn Hallum and Martin’s Mia Storm homered.

In Class B, Nikki Schultz belted a pair of roundtrippers and Kaylin Marshall contributed one as Cliffs Natural Resources blasted Red Rock Lanes, 29-9.

Beth Perry and Kris LaForge scored two runs each for Red Rock.

Dave’s Collision held off Signs Unlimited, 19-7, with Arica Altobello going 4 for 4 with a homer. Linda Denofre added three hits.

For Signs Unlimited, Becky Gauthier posted three hits.

Tina Maki and Gabby Croley smacked homers as Jack’s TeePee doubled up Jasper Ridge II, 18-9.

Fox Negaunee got triples from Chelsea Roberts and Katie Rankinen in an 18-7 triumph over Hickey’s. Caylie Gray homered for Hickey’s.

Shanna Orlich and Deanna Dunn collected two hits each as Pasquali’s nipped Paradise, 6-4. Rachel Marta and Lisa Niemi turned in two hits apiece for Paradise.

In Class C, Wooden Nickel outlasted Venice II, 17-12, behind a 4-for-4 plate performance – including a homer – by Sydney Higgins. Danielle Hardy added three hits for the winners.

For Venice II, Brittney Nieskes went 2 for 4 with a homer.

Joy Prisk hit a homer and two triples, and Amber Nault went 4 for 4 to spark the Eagles to a 19-7 win over Xccelerated Fitness. Teammates Jessica Nault and Micailly Carlson, who homered, added three hits apiece.

Xccelerated’s Ashley Duer had three hits and Carla Lovern two.

Val Prusi and Jessica Noskey Johnson belted homers as U.P. Fabricating downed Eastwood, 11-7. Ellen Sundberg homered and Chelsea Hewitt stroked two hits for Eastwood.

Martin Sports Apparel II crushed Palomaki Family Chiropractic, 35-12, as Amber Salo, who had a homer and three doubles, and Katie Johns each went 6 for 6. PFC’s Jenni Quayle was 3 for 3 including a homer.

Taylor Kulju went 4 for 4 and Christine Gutierrez added a triple as Rookie’s edged Creative Industries, 11-10.

Tracy Gregorich went 4 for 4 with two RBIs and Carley Maki knocked in four runs with the help of a double for Creative Industries.

Chapper’s routed Willey’s Tire Shop. 35-1, behind five hits, including two triples, by Taylor Gray. Dana Rivord and Veronica Slone each went 4 for 5 with a homer and a double for the winners.

For Willey’s, Terri Willey collected two hits.
