MARQUETTE – The first-ever staging of the Hiawatha Traditional Music Festival at Tourist Park in Marquette provided a treat for both a well-behaved crowd and the city itself. According to H. Richard Anderson, chief organizer of the event, the festival was a “tremendous success.” There were 280 campers, including many families with children, at Tourist Park over the week. In addition to the performers, which Anderson said provided “the most diversified amount of music we’ve ever had at the festival,” six food concessions and six crafts displays also participated in the event.
