ISHPEMING – The climax of six months of beard growing by men in the city will be reached when the Brothers of the Brush hold their preliminary judging of beards at the playgrounds. The beard contest, which started with a proclamation by Mary Brewer in February, will be divided into four main classifications: best all-round beard, longest twirled mustache with sideburns or beard, best all-round side whiskers, and best all-round groomed facial growth. A ten dollar consolation prize for “most pitiful attempt to grow hair on face” will also be given.
