The Marquette City Police Department reports the crash occurred at about 10:10 p.m. Tuesday.
Police said a mini-van driven south by John Whitaker, 32, of Gwinn failed to stop at a red traffic light at the intersection. The van was struck by a 1995 Ford pickup truck driven by Zachary Yelle, 19, of Gwinn. Yelle’s truck was headed west on U.S. 41.
A 1998 Honda four-door driven by Brandon Barber, 30, of Marquette was struck by flying debris that cracked the driver’s side window of the car.
Police said Whitaker and his passenger, Shelly Jo Whitaker, 30, of Gwinn were taken to Marquette General along with Yelle and a passenger in his truck, Melanie Harper, 19, of Cornell.
Hospital staff said John Whitaker was listed in serious condition Wednesday afternoon. Shelly Jo Whitaker and Harper had been treated and released. No additional information was available on Yelle.
