Venice I dumps Crossfit 906 in Class A

In Class A play, Venice I bounced Crossfit 906, 14-4, behind three hits apiece by Niki Pflueger and Ann Wilder. Lizzie Dauphinais-VanBuren and Ashley Martin posted two hits each for Crossfit 906.

UP Off Road and Performance stopped UP Home Health, 12-7, as Stacy Kruse and Jessica Collins (triple) both went 3-for-4.

Megan Reilly went 4-for-4 and Ellyssa Hallum 3-for-3 for UP Home Health.

Brenda Thomas hit a home run and Loretta Waananen added three hits as Jubilee Foods toppled Sister’s, 8-5.

Jasper Ridge I blasted Martin Sports Apparel, 23-13, as Kayla Holmes hit two homers among her five hits. Teammates LeAnn Saarela (five) and Megan Chapman (four, including two doubles) chipped in a combined nine safeties.

For the losers, Jenna Pietila hit a round tripper, as did Mary Halonen, and Jill Kangas went 3-for-4 with a triple.

Buck’s Party Store crushed Rookie’s Too/Quality Car Care, 27-6, behind five hits apiece by Shannon Clemo and Sara Polini. Nicole Christensen added an over-the-fence homer.

Lori Marshall and Penny Soucey (triple) posted two hits each for Rookie’s.

In Class B competition, Jack’s TeePee whipped Red Rock Lanes, 20-5. Gabby Croley smacked two homers and Lindsey Thompson one for Jack’s.

Randi Boule’ and Nikki Schultz both hit homers as Cliffs Natural Resources edged Pasquali’s, 12-11, despite a triple by Brandee Korpi for Pasquali’s.

Dave’s Collision got four hits (two homers) from Jamee Gobert, and three safeties each from Caitlin Korvela and Jen Heitikko in a 19-7 triumph over Jasper Ridge II.

Tera Bell turned in three hits and Diana Sundberg hit two homers for Jasper Ridge II.

Jen Polkki and April Lawer (double) each posted four hits to lead Paradise to a 16-15 win over Fox Negaunee. Jillian Tackman recorded five hits (two triples) and Katie Rankinen three safeties (homer) for Fox.

Hickey’s got a triple from Judy Morcom in a 9-6 triumph over Signs Unlimited.

In Class C competition, Danielle Hardy smacked a homer and a triple to spark Wooden Nickel to an 18-12 victory over Xccelerated Fitness.

Shauna Annala posted four hits and drove in three runs, while Xccelerated teammate Andrea Bourdeau went 3-for-4 with three RBIs.

The Eagles turned back UP Fabricating, 11-1, as Amy Bazinette (triple) and Chastity Ellet (home run) backed winning hurler Sue Bazinette with two hits each.

Emily McClean and Emily Richards collected two hits apiece for UP Fabricating.

Kristin Murray went 3-for-3 with a triple and Taryn Gleason contributed two hits – one a circuit clout – as Eastwood thumped Creative Industries, 22-3.

Ashley Talus went 2-for-2 with as triple and knocked in two runs for the vanquished. Teammate Sharon Juchemich added a double and an RBI.

Chapper’s slugged Palomaki Family Chiropractic, 20-4, behind three hits (two homers) and four RBIs by Veronica Stone. Shana Caliguri chipped in three hits (homer, triple) and two RBIs, and Thalicia Gray a homer and a double, for Chapper’s.

Krystal Foster and Kathy Gischia turned in two hits each for Palomaki.

Brooke Kutchie went 3-for-3 and Sarah Massie added two doubles as Martin Sports Apparel II beat Venice II, 10-2. For Venice, Jean Frederickson (double) and Melissa Clark posted two hits each.

Rookie’s got triples from Krista Squires and Colie Ball in a 16-10 triumph over Willey’s Tire Shop. Miranda Nelson and Jamie Zaleski (two doubles) recorded two safeties apiece for Willey’s.
