Benefit dinner for girl, 2, planned

MARQUETTE – A benefit dinner to help a 2-year-old Marquette girl who is facing surgery and subsequent doctor’s appointments in Ann Arbor is planned from 2 to 7 p.m. Sunday at the Bayou Bar and Grill in Harvey.

Madison Tahtinen, age 2, had an anorectal malformation and will be having surgery at the end of the month in Ann Arbor. Since she was born, doctors have been trying to determine what was medically wrong and she was recently diagnosed with the malformation.

Post-surgery, Madison and her family will have to travel to Ann Arbor every month for six months.

The benefit is a spaghetti dinner and silent auction. Music will be provided starting at 3 p.m. by Michael Hozz. Tickets are $8 for adults and $4 for kids and may be purchased at the door.
