Summer Gallery Hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. every day but Tuesday when hours are by chance.

NMU professor emeritus Cappuccio’s latest work is centered on the physical forces that underlie perception, the artist uses color, brightness and structure to create presentations of the patterns that form our visual experiences.

Cappuccio’s work is widely known and recognized at the national level. His work explores scientific and philosophical principals and interprets them in visual forms. Through his paintings, beautiful in their own right, he presents visual aspects of time, motion, and forces in nature.

Hidden in fantastic forms and environments are expressions of the true meaning of reality. Cappuccio argues that what people say ‘exists’ is only a construct of our minds. What we perceive is merely what one or more of our five senses tell us.

An academically trained painter, stripped of the constraints of direct observation, Cappucio injects life-affirming expression into his work. His finished paintings and lively sketches allow viewers to enjoy a thought-provoking glimpse of our world and share the artist’s emotional and aesthetic pursuit of beauty.
