Krause named preseason All-American

MARQUETTE – Nick Krause turned in a solid season at linebacker in 2013 for the Northern Michigan University football team.

That effort has not gone unnoticed as the senior from Gillett, Wisconsin, has been named a Preseason All-American Third Team selection by USA College Football.

Krause racked up 83 tackles last season, with 41 of them solo hits.

He averaged 8.3 tackles per game to go with 3.5 sacks and seven tackles for a combined 66 yards lost in all 10 games for the Wildcats last season.

Krause posted a season-high 15 tackles in the season finale at Ferris State on Nov. 16.

Krause was named the NMU Defensive Most Valuable Player last season.
