Police probe home invasion
MARQUETTE – Marquette Police Department officers arrested a pair of males early this morning after reports of a home invasion.
According to a witness who watched it happen, the two males were arrested at an apartment building located in the Orianna Preserve area just after 7 this morning. Faye Kerr, who resides in an apartment building across the street, said she arrived home at about 7:04 this morning to find heavily-armed police wearing bullet-proof vests in the area.
Shortly thereafter, a female exited the apartment building carrying what appeared to be a bag of garbage. Then, the two males came out of the apartment without shirts and with their hands in the air.
“It was shocking,” she said. “It was like watching Law and Order unfold.”
The arrests followed the 6:43 a.m. report to Marquette police of the home invasion.
There were no injuries reported and the investigation continues.
Marquette officers were assisted by Michigan State Police from the Negaunee Township post and personnel from the Marquette County Sheriff’s Office.
