Negaunee’s Davie named 2nd VP

NEGAUNEE – Bill Davie of Negaunee was elected 2nd vice president of the Michigan Association of Community Mental Health Boards at their recent state conference in downstate Dearborn.

The 1-year position will have Davie serving as an officer with five others to represent the 46 Community Mental Health agencies across the state.

MACMHB serves as a resource to board members, staff and CEOs in education about and advocacy for persons with severe mental, emotional, physical and or substance use disorders.

“In transitioning to the new changes in laws and funding requirements, our systems of care are experiencing both great challenges and great opportunities to offer hope for recovery to many more people in Michigan,” said Davie. “I am confident the changes occurring from Healthy Michigan, which include, Medicaid expansion for low income, mental health parity in the insurance exchanges, and from integration of service providers, will produce an outstanding and measurable difference in the lives of many in our communities.”

Davie also serves as board member and vice chair at Pathways, a four county Mental Health agency based in Marquette.
