Gwinn schools has new leader
GWINN – The Gwinn school district will have a new leader come July in Dru Miliron, who signed a three-year agreement with the district earlier this month.
Board President Gloria Bigelow said Milliron was ultimately chosen because of his past experience as a superintendent, among other qualities.
“That certainly was a consideration when we decided on hiring him,” Bigelow said.
Milliron is the former superintendent and K-12 principal of the Posen Consolidated School District in lower Michigan and has previously served as a superintendent/K-12 principal and a secondary education teacher. He has a master’s degree in educational leadership and a bachelor’s in science.
Milliron’s contract runs from July 1 through June 30, 2017. His salary will be $90,000 and his benefits will include 30 days paid time off with an accumulation ability not to exceed 60 days; $90,000 in term life insurance; and health, dental, vision, dependent life and term life insurance.
Either party may terminate the contract during its first year with or without cause.
