Signs placed in city right-of-way being removed

MARQUETTE – Signs that have been placed in the City of Marquette’s right of way are being removed, in accordance with the city’s zoning policies.

The city put out a public announcement Wednesday alerting those with signs in the right-of-way that they need to be removed

The announcement said signs in the right-of-way will be removed and held at city hall for 10 days prior to being disposed of.

Many signs can be seen located along sidewalks in the city as the Marquette Area Education Association looks to garner support for its current contract negotiations with the Marquette Area Public Schools District and candidates running in local elections look to get their names out.
