Anedda Mager

CHAMPION, MI. Anedda Mager, age 87, of 306 Co. Rd. AC (Railroad St.) Champion, peacefully went to be with the Lord on Tuesday June 17, 2014 while at her home.

Anedda was born April 2, 1927 in Michigamme, MI the daughter of the late Clarence and Gladys (Sharon) Paquette. She moved in her early teens with her family to Champion where she was a graduate of the Class of 1945 and had resided in Champion since.

She was married to Thomas Mager who preceded her in death in 2003. Anedda and Thomas raised their family of 7 children with Anedda attending to the needs of her children as a homemaker. She will be remembered as an excellent cook and baker by family and friends.

Anedda was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Champion, where she enjoyed all of the churches activities. Anedda loved to go for rides in the woods looking for wildlife, of which she had a keen eye for.

She also enjoyed trips to the casino, the senior meals program, the smell of fresh flowers, going out to eat and summers spent in Illinois visiting family.

Survivors include her 7 children Jeanette (Arnie) Harmon of Bellview, IO, Richard Mager of Champion, James (Kay) Mager of Westby, WI, Alan (Teresa) Mager of Negaunee, Marie Mager of Champion, Peter Mager of Champion, and Kathy (Ken) Snell of Diorite Loc.; a sister Donna (Dave) Paris of Neshkoro, WI; sister-in-law Valerie Paquette of Black River Falls, WI; aunt Fern Rautio of Imperial Hts.; 10 grandchildren, along with numerous great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Along with her husband and parents, she was also preceded in death by 3 brothers Peter, Clayton and Earl Paquette.

The family will greet relatives and friends from 9:30am until 11:00am on Saturday, June 21, 2014 at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Champion. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00am following the visitation Saturday, with the Rev. Fr. Greg Heikkala to officiate. Interment will take place at the Champion Cemetery. Family members will serve as pallbearers.
