Red Bulls U12 soars

MARQUETTE – Allowing but two shots, the Superiorland Soccer Association Red Bulls U12 squad blanked the Bayside Sharpshooters, 4-0, on May 31 in Beaver Grove.

Joe Lagrou, Drew Wyble and Jacob Rose scored first-half goals for the Red Bulls, with Hunter Sides, Trevor Salmon and Erik Salminen drawing assists.

Salmon notched a second-half marker, with assists from Rose and Wyble.

Marquette goalkeeper Willie Noble made two saves in the first half, while Nicolaas Vermaat didn’t face a shot in the second for the Red Bulls (7-2-2).

On May 28, the Red Bulls shut out the Marquette Soccer Academy, 2-0.

Salmon, on a header from a corner kick by Wyble, opened the scoring in the first minute of the game. It was followed shortly thereafter by a goal from Jacob Rose off a rebound of a Salmon shot.

Vermaat got the shutout in goal for the Red Bulls.

SSA U12 girls

In games June 3, Team 2 beat Team 1, 6-2, behind goals by Chloe Aldrich, Kaitlyn Berandt, Elle Phillips and Taylor Ragusett.

The Red Hots defeated Team 4, 7-2, as Sydney McCarthy, Emily Bryant Mollie Kilpela and Averie Kelly notched goals for the winners.

Mara Heino and May Waters scored to lead Orange Crush past the Green Ninja Bunnies, 5-3. Emma Walker, Mariana Davis and Lexie Schroeder posted markers for the Green Bunnies.
