Holiday closing – The Marquette County Health Department is closed for Memorial Day and will re-open at 8 a.m. Tuesday.

Marquette Memorial Day – Memorial Day Services are planned by the Richard M. Jopling Post No. 44 of the American Legion in Marquette. The service at Park Cemetery will be at 9:30 a.m., with the ceremony at Holy Cross Cemetery set for 10:15 a.m. Post members encourage everyone in the Marquette area to join in the services. Refreshments will be served at the American Legion Post, 700 W. Bluff St., Marquette, following the 10:15 a.m. service Monday.

Negaunee Memorial Day – V.A. Romo VFW Post 3165 in Negaunee will hold its annual Memorial Day commemoration, beginning with a parade at 10 a.m. in downtown Negaunee. Following the parade, a ritual will be conducted at the Negaunee Cemetery beginning around 11 a.m. Another abbreviated ceremony will then be conducted immediately afterward at Northland Chapel Gardens. A luncheon will then be available at the post home on Gold Street.
