Funds appreciated

To the Journal editor:

As a recipient of a grant from the Cliffs Natural Resources/Eagle Mine Marquette County Community Fund, the Michigan Youth Opportunities Initiative of Marquette would like to express our sincerest gratitude for the contribution to our program.

MYOI is a partnership of the Michigan Department of Human Services and the Jim Casey Youth Initiative which serves current/former foster youth as they transition into independent living and adulthood.

Money received will be used to ensure MYOI youth are able to remain in the program beyond their 21st birthday and have the resources needed to successfully attain their goals.

Local fundraising began in fall 2013. Through the generous donations of Bell Hospital, Buffalo Wild Wings, Cliffs/Eagle, Marquette Firefighters Local 643 and the Marquette Noon Kiwanis Club, MYOI of Marquette will be able to continue to provide vital services to foster youth in our community.

Thank you Cliffs/Eagle Mine Community Fund for your invaluable support.
