Charles E. “Ted” Thompson III

BARDWELL, KY – Charles Edward “Ted” Thompson III, 85 of Bardwell, passed away at 11:30 p.m. Friday, May 16, 2014 at Countryside Center.

Mr. Thompson worked as a mason and was a U.S. Navy Veteran on the USS Endicott D-495 D 5-35 during the WWII and Korean War eras. He was a member of the American Legion Post #0200.

He is survived by two daughters, Karen Lee Davenport of Arlington, KY, and Lori Ann Collins of Venice, FL; two sons, Charles E. Thompson IV of Paducah, and Scott David Thompson of Bardwell; seven grandchildren, six great grandchildren, and two great great grandchildren.

Mr. Thompson was preceded in death by his wife Patricia Leona Dushane Thompson; his parents, Charles E. Thompson II and Hazel Lenore Johnston Thompson; one son Brian Todd Thompson; two sisters; and one brother.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 20, 2014 at Roselawn Cemetery with Rev. Gaylon Bruer officiating. Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Bardwell is in charge of arrangements.
