Local golf: Koski, Stien, Jackson take scramble at MGC

MARQUETTE – The first-day leaders continued to roll in Sunday’s second round of the ABC Scramble to win by six shots on the Heritage Course at the Marquette Golf Club.

Marquette residents Scott Koski, George Stien and Jim Jackson carded 61 on Sunday, a day after shooting 60, for a two-day total of 121. That was six shots ahead of runners-up Andy Nyquist, Alex Palmer and Avery Rochester, who had 64-63-127.

Coming in third was the trio of Aaron Swanson, Mike Oman and Kevin Thomsen, who shot 63 Sunday for a 128 total.

Other flight winners included Rich Koskey, Tom Petroff and Courtney Specker with 66-66-132 to win the first flight; Eric Stern, Scott Bonsall and Greg Buzzo, 71-63-134, for the second flight; and Steve Whelan, Steve Marchiol and Dan Nygard, 68-64-132, in the third flight.
