Eleanor A. Myers

MARINETTE, WI – Eleanor A. Myers “Ellie”, age 77, of Marinette, WI, passed away on Friday, May 9th, at The Bay Area Medical Center in Marinette, following a brief battle with cancer.

She was born on January 11, 1937, in Marquette, MI, to Martin and Anna (Nadeau) Kasiska. She grew up in Marquette and graduated from the Marquette Graverate High School in 1954.

She was united in marriage to John Myers on November 19, 1955, at St John’s Catholic Church in Marquette.

Ellie worked as a clerk for the Duluth South Shore and Atlantic Rail Road. She and John moved to Marinette in 2002.

Ellie was a member of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, The Brotherhood of Railway Clerks, and her Bridge Club in Marinette. While living in Marquette she was also a member of “The Club” which was made up of her close friends. She enjoyed beating friends and family at cribbage. She also enjoyed ceramics, crocheting, knitting, and gardening.

Ellie is survived by her husband of 59 years, John (Jack); children, Lance (Debbie) Myers of Green Bay, Lori (Tim) Duquaine of Marinette, and Yvette (Michael) McCaughn of De Pere; 10 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and a brother, Martin (Edna) Kasiska of Shelby Township, MI.

Friends may call at Hansen-Onion-Martell funeral home, Marinette, from 3-5 p.m. (CDT) on Sunday, May 11, 2014. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. (CDT) on Monday at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, 1600 University Dr. Marinette, WI with Pastor James Wendt officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery.
