Roger D. Dowrick

ISHPEMING, MI. – Roger D. Dowrick, age 72 of 975 Cottage St. Ishpeming (North Lake) passed away Friday, May 2, 2014 at the Marquette General Hospital where he been a patient for the past 13 days.

Roger was born October 14, 1941 in Negaunee to the late Henry & Ingrid (Forstrom) Dowrick. Roger graduated from Ishpeming High School. He worked as a heavy equipment operator for Cleveland Cliff Iron Company for 36 years retiring in 2001.

Roger enjoyed goose and duck hunting, fishing on Lake Superior and riding his 4-wheeler, which he used to plow snow for the neighborhood. Woodworking, watching movies and anything about trains and airplanes were interests of Rogers. Most of all spending time with his grand-kids made him the happiest.

Roger is survived by his wife Susan (Coduti) Dowrick whom he married on October 24, 1964, 2 children: Diane (George) Byykkonen of Dickeyville, WI and David (Tara) Dowrick of Norway, MI, a brother Robert (Peg) Dowrick of Apache Junction, AZ, a sister Nancy (Chuck) Frassetto of Gwinn, 3 grandchildren: Ashley and Nick Byykkonen and Sean Dowrick along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Roger was preceded in death by his parents and a brother Donald Dowrick.

A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 5:00pm on Wednesday, May 7, 2014 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Ishpeming with Fr. Dan Moll officiating.

Roger’s family will greet relatives and friends on Wednesday at St. Joseph Catholic Church from 3:00-5:00pm.

A luncheon will be held in the church fellowship hall following the Memorial Mass.
