Roger H. Paquette Sr.

WALLED LAKE, MI. – Roger H. Paquette Sr. 73 was born Nov. 3rd 1940 in Detroit, Mi. and moved to Michigamme Mi. shortly afterwards. Roger passed away wed. at 4:50am 4/23/14 at his home with family by his side after a long battle with cancer. His strength, attitude and sense of humor through it all was truly inspiring. He never showed any self pity, he worried more about his family, right to the very end. The only thing he wanted, was to spend time with all of his kids while he was able and that he did.

Everyone came, some drove across the country others flew but everyone made it, including all the grandchildren and one great grandson and that was the best medicine of all. He was quite popular at the hospital, they never knew what to expect from him, but he was sure to get a laugh out of them. He was quick witted, loved to joke around, he was well liked there, but don’t think for a minute he won’t give you a piece of his mind when provoked, but most of all he was a loving, caring and supportive husband and father of five.

Roger retired 10 years ago from The Operating Engineers Local 324 .

He then devoted all his time to his loving wife Judy which they would have had 52 years of marriage to each other on the 5th day of May. They enjoyed traveling, seeing the sights all over the states, spending time with family and close friends, taking photos, just enjoying their time together making some wonderful memories to share with others and cherish forever. He also loved watching his sports, but the Tigers baseball was by far his favorite.

Roger Sr. was survived by wife Judy and their five children, seven grand children and one great grandson. Roger (Cheryl) Paquette their daughter Ashley and her son Nathan of Washington. Patrick Paquette his daughter Erica of North Carolina, Debbie (Jerry) Davis their kids Charles and Tabitha of Virgina, Bob (Cheryl) Paquette son Bobby of Michigan, and Carolyn (Mike) McDonald daughters Mindy and Serena also of Michigan, he also has a sister Nancy of Georgia, and a brother Paul of Michigan, and several cousins, nieces and nephews and very close friends.

He will be missed terribly, he has touched so many lives in so many ways, it is such a great loss, pray that he is at peace. He was such a great guy.
