Traffic crash in downtown Marquette

MARQUETTE – Marquette Police Department officers responded to a three-vehicle crash at the intersection of West Washington Street and Third Street at about 3:10 p.m. Thursday.

According to a department written statement, the first vehicle involved in the incident was stopped for a pedestrian in the crosswalk when a second vehicle struck it, causing a chain-reaction, hitting the pedestrian before crashing into a third vehicle.

There were minor injuries to an occupant or occupants of one of the vehicles. The pedestrian also sustained what was described as a minor bump. All were treated and released from Marquette General Hospital.

The driver of the vehicle that caused the chain-reaction was cited at the scene and released.
