NMU board to choose new president Tuesday

MARQUETTE – The Northern Michigan University Board of Trustees will meet Tuesday to choose a new president of the university.

The meeting is scheduled for 10 a.m. inside Room 602 of Cohodas Hall on campus.

During the last few weeks, each of the four finalists for the position visited NMU, holding public forums to meet with students, faculty, staff and community members who wished to ask questions of them.

The four finalists are:

Robert Ackerman, professor of law and former dean at the Wayne State University Law School in Detroit; Fritz Erickson, provost and vice president for academic affairs at Ferris State University in Big Rapids; Greg Cant, founding dean of the Offutt School of Business and Robert J. Johnson chair in economics and business administration at Concordia College in Moorhead, Minn.; Cynthia Pemberton, provost and vice president for academic affairs and professor of education at Dickinson State University in Dickinson, N.D.
