Op-eds hit mark
To the Journal editor:
Here we are into April. Another snowstorm. Most people I’m sure are really tired of our record winter and months below average temperatures. 60 plus days below zero, 70 plus days not above 32 degrees.
Kind of gets you down. And if you watch too much television news, it will not lift your spirits. More or less a lot of bad news. I will give you my thoughts on some real good news – Easter Sunday.
We who believe in the Lord Jesus Christ have lots to be happy about. At first it was sad because Jesus had to suffer terribly and die on the cross. He did that for all people taking our place for the sins of us all.
That’s how much God loves all people, that he sent his son to save us from not only death but no life after that.
But now comes the really good news. On Easter we who believe in Jesus know that he rose from the dead. He defeated death many saw the resurrected Christ. That’s only the beginning, after being with the disciples for sometime Jesus then ascended and was taken up to heaven.
He promised all who accept him as their savior then will too rise from the dead and be with him and God, the father in heaven. A place I believe surpasses anything this earth has to offer.
In the Gospel of John 14, verses 1-3: “Do not let your heart be troubled Trust in God trust also in me. In my fathers House are many rooms if it were not so I would have told you. I am going there to prepare a place for you and if I go and prepare a place for you I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am.”
That’s where I want to be that’s what I call good news. It’s a choice we each have to make. Either believe in the words of Jesus Christ or follow the way of the world as for one, as I have stated many times I choose to receive Jesus as the way the truth and life.
A place beyond any time on earth. A room waiting for me in God’s house.
Happy Easter to all.
