NEGAUNEE, MI. – Victor Trombetta, 91, formerly of 636 Everett St., Negaunee, died at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, April 15, 2014 at the D.J. Jacobetti Home for Veterans where he had resided since December of 2013.
Victor was born March 13, 1923 in Detroit to Carlo and Genny (Trejyis) Trombetta and graduated from Fordson High School in Dearborn. Following graduation, he enlisted in the United States Army, serving as a Private First Classman with Company B, 182nd Infantry during WWII. Following his service to his country, Mr. Trombetta was employed as a maintenance repairman with the Mobil Oil Company. He moved from Gaylord to Negaunee in 1993.
Victor was a life member of V.A. Romo Post #3165, Negaunee V.F.W. Hewas an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Gloria (Bourdage) Trombetta, and survived by 3 sons: Mark (Ann) Trombetta of Northville, MI, Dennis (Shirley) Trombetta of Howell, MI and Kim (Patricia) Trombetta of Newport, KY. He is also survived by 6 Grandchildren: Colin, Amber, Nicholas, Steven, Courtney and Kristin Trombetta; 3 step-sons: Steven (Lori Butler) Bourdage of Ishpeming, Dennis (Janet Goheen) Bourdage of Negaunee, Francis (Tory) Bourdage of Negaunee; 4 step-daughters: Linda (George) Cavadeas of Escanaba, Debbie (Steve) Beauchamp of Ishpeming, Terrie (Dennis) Luokkala of Negaunee, and Cheryl (Tim) Bertucci of Negaunee.
Military services will be held at noon on Saturday, April 19 at the Koskey Funeral Home. The family will greet relatives and friends from 10:30 am until the time of services at noon on Saturday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the National Wildlife Federation, nwf.org, in Victor’s memory.
