Pinewood Derby winners listed

MARQUETTE – Scouts from seven Cub Scout Packs in Marquette and Alger counties recently held the annual zone competition in the Pinewood Derby at St. Michael’s Church in Marquette.

Winners included:

– First grade Tigers Cubs – First place, Jacob Deatrick of Pack 333 in Gwinn; second place, Ian Galbreath of Pack 395 at Sandy Knoll School in Marquette; third place, Noah Wautier of Pack 361 in Harvey; and fourth place, Evan Pesola of Pack 308 at Father Marquette/Superior Hills schools. The Judges choice for design went to Matthew Carlson of Pack 321 at Aspen Ridge.

– Second grade Wolves: First place, Matt Scovronski of Pack 395; Second place, Luke Slade of Pack 308; third place, Kyle Graves of Pack 333; and fourth place, Nolan Thurston of Pack 395. Judges choice was Braxton Gardner.

– Third grade Bears: First place, Ryan Reno of Pack 346 of Negaunee; second place, Andon Buyarski of pack 308; third place, Dylan Giese of Pack 346; and fourth place, Colton Bertucci of Pack 308. The Judges Choice was Caden Lafeyette of pack 361.

– Fourth and fifth grade Webelos: First place, Ray Modell of Pack 308; second place, Hunter Symbal of pack 361; third place, Robert Niemi of Pack 321; and fourth place, Jonny Johnson of pack 333. Judges choice was Hunter McLachlan of Pack 332 Munising.
