Little Dresses for Africa benefit

MARQUETTE – A sewing bee to benefit Little Dresses for Africa will be from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at St. Charles Winery in Marquette.

LDFA is a non-profit organization based out of Brownstown with the mission of clothing girls in Africa with simple dresses made from pillowcases and cotton fabric.

Anyone can participate in this sewing bee – whether it’s providing their time, pillowcases or material, a sewing machine, sewing supplies, elastic or double bias tape, panties and shirts of every size or cash donation it will all be put to good use.

No previous sewing skills needed and lunch will be provided.

Donations of materials can be brought to the St. Charles Winery from 3 to 7 p.m. through Saturday.
