Red Tail Ring to perform Sunday
MARQUETTE – Red Tail Ring, Laurel Premo and Michael Beauchamp, will perform at4 p.m. CST Sunday at the Second Sunday Folk Dance at the Fortune Lake Camp in Crystal Falls.
Hosts Bette and Dean Premo will perform a short opening set with Carrie, Emma, and Susan Dlutkowski.
Snacks and beverages will be served and the dance part of the evening begins at 7 p.m.
Laurel Premo and Beauchamp support their vocals with intricate instrumentation on fiddle, clawhammer banjo, mandolin,and guitar.
The SSFD offers an old-time music jam session lead by fiddler Bob Arthur from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the dining hall at Fortune Lake Camp. Bring an instrument and play along. There is no charge for the jam session.

40 Days for Life closing scheduled
MARQUETTE – A 40 Days for Life Closing Celebration will be from 3 to 4:30 p.m. Sunday at Father Marquette Middle School in Marquette.
There will be snacks and fellowship at 3 p.m. an open mic sharing of experiences at 3:30 p.m. and a final prayer vigil at 4 p.m.
Symphonic band, orchestra at NMU
MARQUETTE – The Northern Michigan University Symphonic Band and Orchestra will share the stage for a concert at 3 p.m. Sunday in Reynolds Recital Hall at NMU.
The NMU Symphonic Band will perform Arabesque by Hazo, Little English Girl by Cese, Gustav Holst’s popular work, Second Suite in F for Military Band and The Music of Quirks by Brant Karrick. NMU music professor Stephen Grugin directs the band. The NMU Orchestra, directed by Barbara Rhyneer, will perform Beethoven’s Egmont Overture, a narrative based on the life and heroism of a 16th-century Dutch nobleman, the Count of Egmont.

Open cribbage tournament set
ISHPEMING – An open cribbage tournament will be at 3 p.m. Sunday at Greenwood American Legion Post 496 in Ishpeming.

Carnegie Library to waive late fees
ISHPEMING – The Ishpeming Carnegie Public Library is offering to waive late fees if individuals return overdue items Sunday through April 19.
Open auditions held for ‘Rent’
MARQUETTE – The Peninsula Arts Appreciation Council is holding open auditions for its musical production of “Rent” from 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday and Monday at the Vista Theater in Negaunee.
“Rent” is a rock musical with music and lyrics by Jonathan Larson based on Giacomo Puccini’s opera “La Boheme.”
The parts are for ages 17 and older and a large cast is needed. Be prepared to sing, dance and act at the audition.
Performance dates are June 12-14 and June 18-21.

Dance at Rock Community Center
ROCK – A dance will be from 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday at the Rock Community/Senior Center at 3892 W. Mapleridge Road in Rock.
Music will be by Will Kilpela and Kenny. The cost is $5 and there will be a free will donations lunch.
