Youth hockey: Marquette Electricians in search of new head coach

MARQUETTE – Jim Jackson is stepping down as head coach of the Marquette Electricians Midget AAA hockey team after one season.

Jackson, who played hockey at Northern Michigan University, said in a release he is resigning because his work schedule won’t allow him to fully commit to next season as the head coach. According to the release, Jackson still plans to be a part of the organization, but in a less demanding role.

The Electricians finished 2-44-3 this season under Jackson, who took over the team from Mark Nebel.

Electricians chairman Brad Sullivan said in the release a search for a new head coach would begin immediately and information for tryouts and summer skates would be announced shortly.
