Negaunee’s Ashley Veale helps break Michigan Tech relay records
WHITEWATER, Wis. – Negaunee’s Ashley Veale was part of two record-setting Michigan Tech relay teams on Sunday at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater Rex Foster Open in Whitewater, Wis. The Huskies finished sixth as a team.
Veale, Jamie Dompier, Lauren Raiford and Hannah Schnack finished fifth in the 400-meter relay, but broke a 31-year Tech record with their time of 50.64 seconds. The old record was 51.26 seconds set in 1983.
Veale, Dompier, Raidford and Deedra Irwin won the 1,600-meter relay with a school-record time of 4 minutes, 2.5 seconds.
