Robarge to announce bid for state senate

MARQUETTE – Marquette resident Adam Robarge is planning to announce today his candidacy as a Democrat for the 38th district state senate in this year’s upcoming election.

According to a press release issued by his campaign, Robarge will speak to the public during a community event scheduled to begin at noon at the Ore Dock Brewing Company in Marquette. Robarge will begin his remarks at 12:30.

The release states Robarge “will speak to his commitment to Michigan’s Upper Peninsula; his desire to bring tax relief to Michigan’s working families; and his commitment to sustainable development that creates jobs and protects our natural resources.”

Robarge is facing off against Gladstone Democrat Chris LeMarche in the Aug. 5 primary. The winner of that race will be up against incumbent Tom Casperson, R-Escanaba in the Nov. 4 general election.
