Indoor golf tourney coming
MARQUETTE – The inaugural Downtown Spring Open: Twisted Tea Off, an indoor miniature golf tournament, will be from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m. April 24 in Marquette’s Downtown District. Proceeds from the event will benefit The Janzen House, a non-profit organization that offers transitional housing for male residents of Marquette County.
Teams of four will compete for cash and prizes as they travel from hole to hole throughout the downtown. The cost to participate is $25 per person, and participants must be at least 21 years of age.
The registration fee provides participants with a drink token to be used at the Ore Dock Brewing Company, food donated by Ron’s Taco Shop, free shuttle services around the district by Checker Transport during the event and access to nine-plus holes of miniature golf. An awards ceremony will follow at The Blue Lounge.
Space is limited, and teams must register by April 18. Teams who register before April 11 are automatically entered to win a prize package valued at $100.
A registration form and more information are available at www.downtownmarquette.org. The event is sponsored by the Marquette Downtown Development Authority, Double Trouble DJs and Bayside Beverage.
