NIT: 906 Technologies, Turnbuckle Ted’s reach semifinals

NEGAUNEE – Dave Bess poured in 34 points to lead 906 Technologies of Marquette and Ishpeming into the Class D semifinals of the Negaunee Invitational Basketball Tournament with a 100-61 victory over Dal Santos Construction/Schneider Iron and Metal of Kingsford on Thursday at Lakeview Memorial Gymnasium in Negaunee.

Josh Harju had 24 points for 906 Technologies and Andrew Keuger finished with 21. For the losing side, Michael John led with 21 points while Dennis DalSanto totaled 13.

In Class E action, Turnbuckle Ted’s of Marquette beat Tea Kainy of Negaunee 61-55 to reach the semifinals.

Turnbuckle Ted’s Ben Jean led all scorers with 19 points and teammate Sean Seibert had 11. For Team Kainy, Ryan Kainulainen scored 16 points and Terry Kainulainen had 11.

Tonight at the NIT, Creative Industries of Marquette takes on Casa Calabria of Marquette in Class EE action at 6 p.m., followed by the Ore Dock of Marquette vs. Tune Squad of Negaunee in Class E. The night wraps up with another Class E match between Wilderness Recovery of Munising and Tino’s TurnKeys of Negaunee.
