Man shot in family feud
PALMER – A Palmer man underwent emergency surgery at Marquette General Hospital Saturday after being shot in a family argument at his home, according to the Michigan State Police.
At about 12:35 p.m. Saturday, state police at the Negaunee post were dispatched to Palmer to investigate a shooting incident between two family members.
According to police, one man was shot and critically injured during an argument. He was transported to MGH, where he had emergency surgery and was listed in critical condition on Saturday night. The man’s current condition is unknown.
The second man was brought to MSP Negaunee post, where he was later arrested on weapons-related offenses.
The MSP crime lab was on the scene in Palmer processing and collecting evidence related to the investigation.
The names of the people involved are not being released by police at this time, and no further information about the incident will be released until the case has been reviewed by the Marquette County Prosecutor’s Office.
Assisting at the scene was the Marquette County Sheriff’s Office, Richmond Township First Responders and Marquette General EMS.
