NMU swimming and diving: Wildcats’ Kearney shines at NCAA Championships

GENEVA, Ohio – After the third day of competition at the NCAA swimming and diving championships, the Northern Michigan University women’s team added another All-American student-athlete to its list for the week.

This time, junior diver Molly Kearney earned the nod as she placed sixth in the 1-meter diving event on Friday evening with 447.60 points to earn All-American status.

In the team rankings, the Wildcats are in 16th place.

In other competition, freshman Rachel Borchardt placed 14th in the 500 freestyle with a time of 5:00.88.

NMU’s 800 freestyle relay team also finished 14th in 7:39.39 with sophomore Crystal Bennet, and juniors Emily Bourguignon, Tara Dowling of Marquette and Debbi Lawrence.
