Klezmer music is the folk music of Eastern European Jewry (think “Fiddler on the Roof”). During the mass immigration of Eastern European Jews to America from 1880 to1924, klezmer music was influenced by jazz and visa versa. A klezmer revival which began in the 1970s has made the energetic music more popular worldwide.
