NMU track and field: Stewart, Toogood make NCAA Championships

MARQUETTE – Northern Michigan University senior Cheyenne Stewart and junior Christina Toogood have been selected to compete for the Wildcats at the upcoming NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships.

Stewart earned an automatic qualifier after winning the triple jump at the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletics Conference Indoor Championships with a record setting jump of 40 feet, 5.00 inches.

Toogood qualified in the 800-meter run after posting an NCAA provisional qualifying time of 2 minutes, 13.64 seconds at the Lake Superior Challenge on Feb. 8.

The NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships will be held at the JDL Fast Track in Winston-Salem, N.C., March 14-15.
