MARQUETTE, MI. – Paul Horsma, 67, a resident of the D.J. Jacobetti Home for Veterans in Marquette and former Traprock resident passed away on Friday February 21, 2014.
He was born on February 22, 1946 in Hancock a son of the late Wilhelm and Alice (Moilanen) Horsma.
Paul graduated from Lake Linden Hubbell High School with the class of 1964.
Following school, Paul was drafted into the U.S. Marines Corps serving during the Vietnam War.
He was employed at Harley Davidson Motorcycle in Milwaukee and the Sawmill in Mohawk where he was an equipment operator until its closing.
He moved to Marquette in late 1990’s and was employed at Wawonowin Golf Course and Tilden Mine as a security guard.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Dave and James brother in law Ronald Vuorinen Sr. and a nephew Ronald Vuorinen Jr.
Surviving are: Sisters: Karen Vuorinen of Palmer and Mavis Horsma (Rod Simons) of Palmer, Nephew Chad Vuorinen of Ishpeming, Great Nephews Chase and Miles Vuorinen of Negaunee.
Funeral services will be held on Friday February 28, 2014 at 4:00 PM in the Erickson Crowley Peterson Funeral Home in Calumet with Pastor Peter Vorhes to officiate.
Friends may call at the Erickson Crowley Peterson Funeral Home in Calumet on Frida from 3-4 PM. Burial will be in the Maple Hill Cemetery in Lake Linden.
