Bitter-cold weather is getting old

After a couple of really nice, warm, sunny days it’s back to the bitter-cold weather that I wish I could say I’m used to by now, yet I’m definitely not.

Tuesday and Wednesday were so nice that I got so much done including all the errands I’ve been putting off because I just don’t want to go out in the cold. Those two days actually gave me some hope that spring just might be coming soon and that Mr. Groundhog was wrong, but then I looked at the weather for next week. That was discouraging.

I’m not going to lie, I love living in the U.P. and that’s why after coming for up here for college seven years ago I have yet to leave, but this bitter cold just makes me want to run away and visit in the summer. It’s been a long winter and I’m sure many of you feel the same way. But we wouldn’t willingly live here if we didn’t love the area so much.

I’ve found that after my first summer here in Marquette I knew it would be hard to leave. With a beautiful beach not more than a mile away and all the festivals and activities that happen over the summer I’m never bored, and that’s how this area gets you.

During the winter all I can think about is how much I want to move somewhere warm, but then summer and fall come around and all I think about is why I would ever want to live somewhere else. It’s definitely a love-hate relationship. I just hope that Mother Nature gives us a little love real soon and bring spring as soon as it can.
