Glacier Glide winners announced
Shown is the Best of Snow winner in the adult category of the Lake Superior Art Association’s 2014 Glacier Glide Art Show that was held recently. The award winner was the Backdoor Friends for their “Hanging Ice Creations.” Other award winners include:
Adult category – First Place, Terry Gilfoy for his ceramic tile piece titled Portrait of Chinook; second place, Dan Barrington for his ice sculpture titled So Cold My Arms Fell Off; third place, Ritch Branstrom for his piece Coyote and Road Runner; and three honorable mentions, Luke Strom for My First Show, Fran Darling for I Can See Clearly Now and Leeann Collins, Christine Bortman, and Katie Lowe for Dream Catcher.
Youth category – 9 years old and younger, best of snow went to Stella Walker, first place to Alanah Mattson, second place to James Thompson and third place to Maggie Beaudry; 10 to 14 years old, best of snow went to Taylor Ragusette, first place to Jachlyn Lenten, second place to Zari Zenti and third place to Emma Walker; and 15 to 18 years old, best of snow went to Alyssa Peterson. There were 30 adult entries and 80 youth entries.
