’Blue Jasmine’ to be screened

MARQUETTE – There will be a screening of “Blue Jasmine” at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday in the Community Room of the Peter White Public Library, Marquette.

Woody Allen’s newest dramatic comedy tells the story of Jasmine, an elegant New York socialite played by Cate Blanchett, whose marriage to Hal, a wealthy businessman played by Alec Baldwin, is falling apart.

On the edge of poverty and homelessness, Jasmine moves into her sister’s modest apartment in San Francisco to try to pull herself back together again. Best Actress Golden Globe Award winner and Academy Award nominee for Blanchett, “Blue Jasmine” was released in July 2013, is rated PG-13 and runs for 98 minutes.
