Partnership chooses award recipients

MARQUETTE – The Lake Superior Community Partnership announced U.P. Home Health, Hospice, & Private Duty and Dave Aro as recipients of the 2014 Distinguished Service Awards, sponsored by the Marquette County Ambassadors.

U.P. Home Health, Hospice, & Private Duty was selected in the business category and Aro was chosen the individual award recipient.

The awards will be presented at the LSCP’s annual dinner celebration scheduled for March 13 in Northern Michigan University’s Great Lakes Rooms.

“Each year, one of the highlights of our annual diner has been the opportunity it presents to recognize companies and individuals who make significant contributions to our community and to the Lake Superior Community Partnership,” said Dennis Smith, LSCP chairman, in a news release. “This year is no exception, and I am very pleased with the selection committee’s choice for these prestigious awards.”

Criteria used in the award-selection process include: making a strong contribution to the betterment of Marquette County through the use of time and talent, helping the LSCP reach its economic and community development goals and demonstrating leadership within the community.

LSCP Chief Executive Officer Amy Clickner said in a news release, “Dave has devoted so much of his time to the LSCP and the Marquette County community. It is wonderful to see his efforts recognized.”

Aro is administrative officer of the LSCP board of directors and serves on many other boards and committees throughout the county.

“We are very excited to honor such a long-standing partner in our community,” Clickner said. “U.P. Home Health, Hospice, & Private Duty has been an LSCP partner and very highly involved in our mission to stimulate and sustain a vibrant regional economy since our inception.”
