MARQUETTE – The Lake Superior Community Partnership has teamed up with the Marquette County Brownfield Authority, Envirologic and Marquette County to host a workshop on Brownfield Redevelopment and Property Taxation from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Thursday at the Northern Michigan University’s Bottum University Center in Marquette.
The workshop will start with discussing the Brownfield Redevelopment and will include time to review site inventory and provide input and end with a panel discussion featuring speakers from the Michigan Economic Development Corporation, Department of Environmental Quality, LSCP and Northern Initiatives.
Then the workshop will focus on property taxation and include information on the property tax cycle, property transfers and uncappings and principal residence exemptions. The cost is $15 for one session or $20 for both and lunch is included. Participants must register before Tuesday. To register, visit www.marquette.org.
