Beulah (Bea) Kantola
MARQUETTE, MI – Beulah M. “Bea” (Anys Morgan Mohrman) Kantola of Marquette died January 24, 2014, at the Marquette County Medical Care Facility in Ishpeming, under the care of U.P. Home Health and Hospice. She was 92, and had been a resident of MCMCF since 2009.
She was born September 30, 1921, to Leroy and Myrtle (Carter) Anys in Watersmeet, Michigan. She graduated from Watersmeet High School in 1939 and moved to Marquette.
On February 11, 1943, she married Clyde Morgan. They moved to Battle Creek, Mich., during World War II, and returned to Marquette in 1945. He preceded her in death in 1957. She moved with her son, Clyde Morgan, to Aurora, Ill., and returned to Marquette after four years, when she married Vern Mohrman. He preceded her in death in 1987. On August 8, 1989, she married Charles Kantola, who preceded her in death on November 20, 2008.
She was retired from the former Carroll Motors in Marquette, where she was an inventory clerk. She was a talented musician, an excellent seamstress and an active member of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Marquette.
Survivors include her son Clyde (Maggie) Morgan of Negaunee; her grandson, Clyde (Kara) Morgan III of Marquette; two great-granddaughters, Mia and Madalene Morgan of Marquette; one brother, Charles (Sally) Anys of Escanaba; brothers-in-law, Henry Chase of Escanaba, Mich.; and Glen (Margaret) Morgan of Highlands Ranch, Colo.; sisters-in-law Dorothy Carlson of Marquette, and Beatrice Colburg of Iron River, Mich.; four stepchildren, Charles (Amber) Kantola of Negaunee, Kevin (Michelle) McLaughlin of Marquette, Christine (Phil) Garceau of Powell, Wyo., and Kathy (Ron) Jackson of Menominee, Mich.; as well as many nieces, nephews, step-grandchildren and friends.
In addition to her husbands, she was preceded in death by her parents; her daughter, Susan Morgan; two sisters, Betty Chase and Ruth Kersten; four brothers, Jim Anys, Bill Anys, Gilbert Anys and Bob Anys.
Friends may call at St. Paul Episcopal Church on Saturday, February 1, 2014 from 11:30 am until 12:00 pm. Funeral services will be held in the church at 12:00 pm with Bob Railey presiding. A reception will follow in the church hall.
